Downtown Gaspe



I stopped at the Gaspe Museum today.  There was a demonstration of the fishing and fish drying that was done in the early days of settlement.  There was a room devoted to the food and recipes of the time and one to the development of hockey on the peninsula, with a presentation on the championship game with the Anaheim Ducks.  That was kind of cool.









I drove over, or tried to, to the cross to take a picture but there is a music festival this evening and everything is blocked off. I finally found a parking place at the church and walked down to the cross. Boy those hills …




I had lunch at a pub that was recommended in my guide book …. I don’t know why.  It wasn’t very good and the WiFi wasn’t either.  It has become my new judge of a good place.  Ha.


I hiked back up the hill and then drove the shore some more until dusk.  It is lovely.
